Position: Hairstylist / Barber (NOC 63210).

Job duties:

• Suggest a hairstyle compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair.
• Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
• May shampoo and rinse hair.
• May perform receptionist duties and order supplies.
• May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices, and barbers.

Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.

The language of work: English.

Wage: $36 per hour.

Skills requirements:

Required education:

• Completion of secondary school (high school) education.
• Completion of a hair styling certification program with on-the-job training.

Required work experience:

• 3 or more years of experience as a hairstylist and barber.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent communication skills to understand client requests and provide appropriate recommendations
• Knowledge of retail sales practices to promote and sell hair care products
