Job Title:

Carpenter Supervisor

We are a well-established residential and commercial framing company based in Surrey, BC. Our team delivers high-quality framing solutions on projects across the Lower Mainland. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Supervisor to join our growing team and lead on-site framing operations. This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters, framers, and construction labourers on job sites
• Plan and organize daily work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor crew productivity
• Interpret and review blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to guide framing operations
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
• Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and materials; requisition supplies as needed
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and project managers to coordinate workflow and resolve on-site issues
• Enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations and conduct regular site safety inspections
• Train and mentor new workers and apprentices in proper framing techniques and safety practices
• Prepare and submit progress reports, timesheets, and site documentation to management
• Identify and resolve on-site problems and delays promptly

 

Requirements

Education

• Completion of secondary school is usually required

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the trade or in the work area supervised is usually required
• Demonstrated experience in wood framing, residential or commercial construction.
• Previous supervisory or lead-hand experience in a construction environment is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of framing techniques and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work under pressure

Wages: $38.00 per hour.
