Department: Installation

Reports to: General Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Load & off load truck and transport material into project work sites;
Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets if necessary;
Set slabs in position and apply pressure to affix it to base;
Use level, square and straightedges to align and straighten slabs;
Fills all horizontal and vertical seams with epoxy and polyester resin colored to match stone;
Sets tops as close as practical to the same plane as cabinets including cooktops;
Cut, polish and fit granite, marble & artificial marble if needed using hand and power cutting tools;
To use chisel, bush hammer to carve, riffle, letter and cleavering.
Prepare, measure and mark surface to be covered;
Repair or Remove and replace cracked or damaged slabs;
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications;
Prepare rough plans and sketches;
Mentor junior workers

Experience Requirements:

This position will be responsible for the installation of granite, marble, artificial marble and terrazzo slab and large format porcelain jobs, must have below experiences:

Skills Level:

Familiar with BACA Sawjet 1.0.
Familiar with GMM Extra 480.
Cutting, polishing to fit using power tools.
Able to use chisel, bush hammer to carve, riffle, letter and cleavering.
Transport, handle using Omni Cube.
Level, square to align slab materials to fit parameter.
Level and fill seam with color matching with polyester resin.
Set and bond materials.
Ability to:
- Read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos;
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization;
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals;
- Distinguish types of materials and knowledge the proper installation method for each;
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education Level:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or four years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
Valid:
- Fall Protection certificate
- WHMIS certificate
- Hearing Test
- Respirator Fitting Test

Physical Demands

The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions.
The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 125 pounds.
There are no special vision requirements.

Work Environment

Indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment and outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions.
The typical noise level for this job is moderate to very loud.
