Certified Dental Assistant

About the Role: We are a busy dental practice in Victoria, BC, seeking a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) to join our team. You will work chair-side with our dentists to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care in a professional and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance during examinations, restorative procedures, extractions, and other dental treatments
• Take and process dental radiographs (intraoral and extraoral)
• Perform coronal polishing and apply pit and fissure sealants
• Take alginate impressions
• Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and wedges
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and operatories per IPAC protocols
• Document patient records accurately using dental practice management software
• Assist with patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support front desk functions as needed, including scheduling and patient communication

Required Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) as a Certified Dental Assistant
• NDAEB certification (National Dental Assisting Examining Board)
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Valid CPR certification (Level C or HCP)
• Knowledge of BC IPAC standards and WorkSafeBC requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: CA$31.00 per hour
