Position Overview

The Parts Advisor plays a key role in day-to-day retail operations by assisting customers in identifying and purchasing the correct automotive parts for their vehicles. This position involves a combination of customer service, inventory management, order processing, and coordination with suppliers and warehouses. The Parts Advisor must be detail-oriented, knowledgeable about automotive parts, and capable of handling in-person and phone-based customer inquiries efficiently.

Job Description / Duties

This role will perform the following duties:

  • Research and identify automotive parts based on customer needs and vehicle specifications.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate parts for their vehicles.
  • Process customer orders over the counter and by phone.
  • Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive and ship orders, including bulk deliveries from the warehouse.
  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Order automotive parts and manage inventory levels.
  • Perform regular inventory counts.
  • Stock shelves and organize products as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales area.

Employment Requirements

  • 1 year experience as a Parts Advisor or in an automotive parts retail environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle systems is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with POS systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a retail environment.

Wage and Benefits

  • Wage: $23.00 per hour
  • Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 48 hours per week
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times the regular wage for hours worked over 48 hours per week
  • Vacation: 4% vacation pay of earned wages
