Job Title: Personal Support Worker – Long-Term Care
Location: Moira Place Long-Term Care Home, 415 River St. West, Tweed, ON, K0K 3J0; 100% on-site
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time,
Hours of Work: 75 hours biweekly
Wage: $28.38 per hour, progression as per Collective Agreement
Language of Work: English
Start Date: As soon as possible
The Opportunity:
Moira Place Long-Term Care Home is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our Long-Term Care team. In this role, you will provide essential daily care and support to residents, assisting with personal care, mobility, and activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity. Working as part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in enhancing residents’ quality of life and ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for those who call our home their home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and social engagement
- Support restorative care programs and encourage resident participation to promote independence
- Document care accurately and in compliance with policy and legislation
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members, residents, and families
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols including IPAC
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and compassion in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred
- Knowledge and/or training in responsive behaviors (e.g., GPA or U-First!) considered an asset
- Completion of Food Handler certification is an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Current immunizations in accordance with company policy
