A trucking company, Groundway Transport Ltd., located at 10540 125A Street, Surrey BC V3V 5A3 has immediate vacancies for 10 long haul truck drivers.

 

Number of Vacancies: 10

Location of Work: Travel across Canada and USA with base at 12310 114Ave, Surrey BC V3V3N5

Term of employment: Full time, Permanent with 40-50 hours per week.

Shifts: Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings

Salary: $37 per, overtime after 60 hours per week at the rate of 1.5 times.

Benefits: WCB Coverage with 4% vacation pay

 

Job Requirements:

Credentials: Class 1 or A driver's license with air brake endorsement.

Education: Completion of High School

Experience: No experience required. On the job training will be provided

 

Additional Skills:

  • Basic English is required to understand road signs and fill log book
  • Be able to work in individuals or in a team
  • Clean driving abstract

Type of Travel: Long Haul, Regional, provincial/Territorial, National and International.

 

Duties:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks weighing over 4600 kg with three or more axles to transport goods and material to destinations all over Canada and USA;
  • Oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo;
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes and cold storage;
  • Maintain log book, record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log book;
  • Communicate with dispatcher and Load cargo.

 

The company will provide financial support for relocation to suitable candidate.
