We are currently seeking an experienced Twin-Steer Dump Truck Driver to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to impactful projects across the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate a twin-steer dump truck with 18-speed manual transmission to transport materials safely and efficiently
  • Drive on assigned routes in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment
  • Safely move equipment using a tag trailer within HRM and throughout the province
  • Operate under varying traffic, road, and weather conditions
  • Maintain communication with dispatch, team members, and supervisors
  • Report any mechanical issues, delays, or hazards promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site protocols

Job Requirements

Language: English

Education: Diploma or apprentice training of 6 months to 2 years

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dump trucks with an 18-speed transmission
  • Experience moving equipment with tag trailers is required
  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Safety certifications such as WHMIS or First Aid are considered assets
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
  • Strong awareness of road safety and vehicle operation best practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members
  • Proactive and adaptable with a strong work ethic
