We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for operating heavy equipment and contributing to the safe and efficient progress of construction projects.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform precise digging, trenching, and material placement
  • Excavate, load, and unload materials such as rocks, soil, and debris
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and notify foreman of any necessary repairs, upgrades, or replacements
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Assist crew members with site duties when not operating machinery
  • Follow all company and provincial safety regulations and procedures
  • Communicate clearly with site supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely

Job Requirements

Language: English

Education: Diploma or apprentice training of 6 months to 2 years

Experience:

  • Prior experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment is required
  • Experience working on commercial or residential construction sites preferred
  • Mid-rise demolition experience is an asset
  • Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid are considered assets
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, steel-toed boots, and reflective vest is an asset
  • Strong visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses)
  • Able to remain focused and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Able to follow instructions and contribute positively to a team environment
  • Effective communicator with a proactive attitude
