We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for operating heavy equipment and contributing to the safe and efficient progress of construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform precise digging, trenching, and material placement
Excavate, load, and unload materials such as rocks, soil, and debris
Perform basic equipment inspections and notify foreman of any necessary repairs, upgrades, or replacements
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Assist crew members with site duties when not operating machinery
Follow all company and provincial safety regulations and procedures
Communicate clearly with site supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely

Job Requirements

Language: English

Education: Diploma or apprentice training of 6 months to 2 years

Experience:

Prior experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment is required
Experience working on commercial or residential construction sites preferred
Mid-rise demolition experience is an asset
Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid are considered assets
Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
Own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, steel-toed boots, and reflective vest is an asset
Strong visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses)
Able to remain focused and make sound decisions under pressure
Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Able to follow instructions and contribute positively to a team environment
Effective communicator with a proactive attitude
