Company Overview: Join a reputable company, U1 Logistics, located in Mississauga, dedicated to excellence in the industry. As we expand, we are actively seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper (NOC: 12200) to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities: As a crucial member of our team, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions within our office setting. Working directly with the CEO and Operations staff, this role includes, but is not limited to:
- Handling bank deposits
- Conducting monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations
- Maintaining and remitting monthly HST schedules
- Managing corporate remittances for federal and provincial taxes payable
- Processing cheque requests and facilitating daily & weekly cheque runs
- Handling vendor payments via wire transfers/EFT payments
- Preparing various accounting summaries and reports
- Assisting accountants with quarterly and year-end financial statement preparation
- Preparing and maintaining simple year-end financial statements and related tax returns
- Participating in special projects and other assigned functions
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3–5 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role.
- CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation or currently enrolled to pursue CPB is an asset.
- Completion of a college diploma or post-secondary program in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet rigid deadlines.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Prior experience in logistics or transportation industry accounting is preferred.
- The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a temporary resident with a valid work permit.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: $52,000.00-$65,000.00 per year – based on experience
Work Location: The position is based in-person at our office in Mississauga.
Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5pm.
