We are seeking to hire Network support technician to join our team at 18151 107 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 1K4. All candidates must be willing to join a team environment to strengthen and grow our current crew with a positive attitude and character.

 

We offer:

  • Wage: $38.00 per hour
  • Hours per week: 35 - 40 hours per week

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage, diagnose, and support local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe systems, computer workstations, and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
  • Install, configure, and update computer hardware, networking software, and operating systems across networked environments.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols for data, hardware, and software, including the use of network traffic and security monitoring tools.
  • Perform routine startup, shutdown, and maintenance procedures for networks, while keeping accurate control and operational records.
  • Conduct regular data backups and manage disaster recovery operations to protect and restore critical systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to deploy and support network technologies
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and test data transmission between servers, computers, routers, and other network devices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and junior staff, both remotely and onsite.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, procedures, and client systems to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Optimize server capacity and network performance to meet organizational demands and minimize downtime.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and network infrastructure trends to support continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
