Job Summary

The General Cleaner will be responsible for carrying out interior cleaning duties on active and post-construction sites to ensure that residential and commercial units are ready for occupancy. The role requires performing light duty cleaning tasks, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and maintaining cleanliness in high-use areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wipe floors to remove dust, dirt, and construction debris.
Clean and sanitize washrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures.
Clean kitchens, including sinks, counters, cupboards, cabinets, and appliances.
Wash and clean inside windows, glass, mirrors, and other interior surfaces.
Empty garbage bins and dispose of waste safely.
Dust and wipe surfaces, including cupboards, doors, and baseboards.
Handle, move, and lift cleaning supplies and equipment weighing up to 15 lbs.
Follow safe work procedures in noisy and dusty environments on active construction sites.
Report safety hazards or damages to the supervisor.
Perform other light duty cleaning tasks as assigned.

Employment Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school (high school diploma).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in cleaning or janitorial services, preferably on construction sites or in residential/commercial cleaning.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, debris, and high noise levels.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and manual labour.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Working Conditions

Work performed on active or post-construction sites.
Frequent exposure to dust, construction debris, and high noise levels.
Must be able to wear protective personal equipment (e.g., gloves, safety footwear, masks) as required.
Physical demands include standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and carrying supplies.
