Our in-house "Train-The-Trainer" programs are for for companies with over 50 workers or multiple location’s global locations, ensuring consistent and traceable training delivery. ACTi is committed to reducing client crane safety liability through expectational crane safety training content and delivery.
Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Safety Trainer- Overhead Cranes. The Safety Trainer will be responsible for conducting safety training sessions, delivering Overhead Crane Safety Training courses. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, promoting safe work practices, and supporting trainees in understanding and implementing safety protocols. You’ll delivery training both on-site (including remote sites) ensuring compliance with OH&S regulations and CSA standards, and helping workers operate overhead cranes safely and effectively. Travel to remote locations. Be able to take on-site orientations and on-line orientations.
Qualifications
- Crane Operation Experience and Knowledge 3-5 years hands-on overhead crane operation
- Familiar with bridge, gantry, and jib crane types
- Experience with rigging and lifting
- Safety Regulation Knowledge of provincial OH&S legislation (e.g. Part 13 & 14)
- Familiar with CSA Standards (especially CSA B167-16)
- Understanding of hazards assessments, inspections, and PPE requirements
Certificates
- Health & Safety and NCSO certification
- WHMIS Certification
- Valid First Aid / CPR Certification
- CSTS 2020
Instructional Skills
- Communication and Training skills - Must Speak English as First Language (clear verbal and written communication skills)
- Experience as Safety Instructor or Trainer
- Comfortable reading out loud and leading presentations
- Ability to deliver engaging and informative training presentations
- Capable of evaluating and correcting operator performance
- Skilled with PowerPoint, Microsoft tools and DVD

Other Requirements
- Valid driver's licence + own vehicle
- Own Car for transportation
- Willing to travel for training assignments - travel to remote locations

- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Subcontractor status preferred
