Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is a Ground Support Equipment distributor and manufacturer, serving the Commercial and Military Aviation Industry. We are seeking a hands-on Licensed Automotive or Heavy Truck Technician to perform inspection and modification of new equipment.
AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms, on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes an excellent line card of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users.
What you will do:
- Perform inspection and modification of BYD lithium electric baggage tractors.
- Provide technical support and training to customers.
- Repair and modify equipment by performing wiring, installing hardware, removing doors, and replacing tires.
- Work on electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Test equipment performance and take necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards.
- Documenting all repair/modification activities.
- Managing tools, parts, equipment and supplies.
- Mentor and train Apprentice Technicians on maintenance and repair procedures.
What you will need:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Automotive or Heavy Truck trade.
- Valid 310S or 310T certification.
- Experience with repair and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with diesel, gas, and hybrid systems.
- Tools will be provided. Steel-toe boots are required. AGEC will offer reimbursement of up to $300 CAD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude.
- Prior experience in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand various schematic diagrams and repair manuals for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Travel <15%.
- Legal eligibility to work in Ontario with a valid Passport.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain transportation security clearance through Transport Canada.
