Job Summary
The Human Resources Specialist will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our workforce by managing HR responsibilities and focusing on recruiting top talent to join our team of drivers. This position requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for helping others succeed.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Hiring:
- Develop and post job advertisements for driver positions.
- Screen and interview candidates to ensure qualifications and alignment with company values.
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training.
- HR Administration:
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and provincial labor regulations.
- Handle employee relations issues, including performance management and conflict resolution.
- Prepare and update HR documentation, such as contracts, policies, and handbooks.
- Workforce Management:
- Schedule and coordinate driver shifts to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Compliance:
- Stay informed of employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
- Address any workplace safety and employee concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in recruitment and HR functions, preferably in the transportation or service industry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of labor laws and employment standards in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software systems.
