Minimum Qualifications:
- Computer and technology knowledge: MS Word, Microsoft Office, MS Excel
- Education: Bachelor's degree in foreign trade or commerce
- Work Experience: 2 years
- Knowledge of Vietnamese and Asian supplier markets and production
- Strong negotiation skills
- Our procurement officer is an essential player in the sourcing planning process. He or she must help us identify problems as our suppliers develop, manufacture, store, and ship products.
- The procurement function requires understanding shipping documentation and building lasting relationships as they increase efficiency and focus on supply chain optimization.
- Our procurement officer must be able to find creative solutions, generate reports and present findings to the owners, communicate with external suppliers and buyers, comprehend legal documents, and develop lasting relationships with suppliers. They must be proactive problem solvers with a desire to collaborate with others.

Job duties
- Reporting to the President/Owner
- Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios, and other factors concerning the supply market, and write reports and recommendations.
- Provides research and input into the financial sourcing aspects of contracts and calls for tenders when information is not readily available.
- Identify high-impact cost-reduction opportunities.
- Leverage Tian Phat’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers.
- Respond to wholesale customer service inquiries, clarify requirements, and provide information as needed.
- Purchase food ingredients from Asian countries, especially Vietnam for export and sale in Canada.
- Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress, and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
- May hire, train, or supervise a purchasing clerk if and when needed.
- Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
- Manage the inventory planning, purchasing, and import process
- Prepare, review, and control production and import budgets and provide updated monthly forecasts
- Seek reliable vendors or suppliers to deliver quality goods at reasonable prices. negotiating prices and contracts
- Reviewing technical specifications for raw materials and other food items, such as frozen food and food ingredients
- Determining quantity and timing of deliveries according to orders and forecasts
