Ascendent Technology Group operating as Infiniti Electro Optics is seeking a highly skilled Assembly and Testing Supervisor to lead and actively participate in the production of EO/IR Military systems in: 15 9th Ave S. Cranbrook, BC
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electro-optical systems, mechanical design using Fusion 360 or Solidworks, military surveillance systems, and wiring and soldering of PCB and low gauge cables.
The candidate must also be able to lead a team and oversee the general process of multiple builds, ensuring timelines and quality control are being upheld.
This person must be able to teach their team the needed skills and be a good communicator, and must be able to have flexible hours for working overnights and overtime when required.
This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability for military applications.
Main Duties
- Address workplace challenges and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and output.
- Request and manage necessary materials and supplies for operations.
- Provide training on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies, while suggesting staffing decisions such as hiring and promotions.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety regulations and standards.
- Generate and maintain production records and other operational reports.
- Install and configure machinery or equipment when needed.
- Oversee, coordinate, and plan the daily tasks of support staff and labor teams.
Employment requirements
- A post-secondary qualification in electronics, electrical, manufacturing technology, or a similar field.
- At least one year of hands-on experience as an assembler, fabricator, inspector, tester, or lead in electronics or electrical work.
- Experience in alignment of precision electro-optical systems, including multi sensor systems that are boar sighted and mechanically aligned.
- Experience in synchronization and adjustment of parameters for optics and lasers.
- Experience in synchronization of FOV’s of different sensors such as thermal, visible and laser illuminators to ensure all sensors match each other through-out their focal length.
- Ability to affix specialized windows (BK7, GE, Silicone etc.) on military enclosures.
- Knowledge on configuring and tuning image settings for EO/IR systems and video engines to ensure proper image acquisition, IP encoding, and Image settings.
- Abilities in advanced wiring and assembly abilities, including micro soldering in intricate locations, and testing/validation multiple outputs.
- Abilities and experience in building, integration, installation, and adjustment of wipers and washers on Visible-NIR lenses and enclosures.
- Experience in Installing and soldering military connectors to maintain IP66 sealing, electrical and video signals, and have the ability to troubleshoot and eliminate noise affecting outputs.
- Experience in assembling rugged military grade enclosures that involve custom sealing O rings to maintain operation in extreme and rugged environments.
- Ability to integrate and optimize heating and cooling systems for power and temperature regulation. Ability to use 3D printing and sheet metal designs for custom air channels to heat and cool components for optimal performance based on custom requirements.
The candidate applying for this job MUST have experience in building and fixing complex custom Electro Optical Video Surveillance systems. This includes but is not limited to working with MWIR & LWIR thermal infrared imaging, infrared laser illumination, HD long-range visible and NIR imaging. Sales or other roles that demonstrate good communication are also helpful but not expressly required.

Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour
