Job Overview:
At Kuntz Electroplating Inc. (KEI), we are seeking an Automation Programmer/Technician to join our dynamic team.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Details of this position:
- Permanent, Full time
- 40 hours a week Minimum
- $30.29/hour
- Afternoon shift (7% shift premium)
- 2 weeks vacation

Job Responsibilities:
- Must follow safe work practices, know and comply with all regulations, report an injury or illness immediately, report unsafe acts and/or conditions;
- Support the integration of robotic polishing (program paths, maintain programs, hardware, software, machinery, controls and polishing media required to run polishing cells);
- Support the integration of all other automated equipment (programming, installing and maintaining hardware, software, controls) as designed by the Automation team in co-ordination with Process, CI, Service and Production groups;
- Provide hardware and software support (including PC’s, networking devices, robot controllers, automation controllers and devices);
- Act as a liaison between CI teams, Process, Production and Service groups, to address concerns and implement positive modifications throughout all automated systems.
- Develop and perform scheduled PM’s as required on automation equipment.
- Develop training packages, Key-Point instructions and assist in the training of all operators of automated equipment.
- Report problems/issues/concerns to the Services Manager as well as other appropriate personnel so corrective action can be taken
- Take a pro-active approach to all aspects of the job, investigate and evaluate new technology to aid in the overall objective of the department.
- Responsible for adhering to plant quality procedures in assigned job to meet customer requirements and customer specific requirements.
- Comply with all management systems to which KEI subscribes (ex. Quality and Environmental systems);
- Perform 6S (Housekeeping) as directed by Services Manager.
Job Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Technology Robotics and Automation diploma preferred.
- 2 years polishing experience an asset;
- Experience in robotic programming, Fanuc Karel, TPP and ABB Rapid;
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI programming using Rockwell Software Products and Inductive Automation Products (Ignition) preferred;
- Programming knowledge of C+, ADO, and ASP preferred;
- Knowledge of product quality standards and the importance of your activities in achieving, maintaining, and improving quality, including customer requirements and the associated risks to customers of non-conforming products;
