Reporting to the Principals the Financial Specialist is responsible for the financial operation of LHC including payroll, invoicing, tax remittances along with managing financial records, monitoring accounts receivable, preparation of financial reports including annual budget, and working with outside firm services (Banks, Accountant, Lawyers) as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Regular Duties
- Accounts Receivable/Payable
- Prepares expense reports, payroll and invoicing
- Coordination of weekly submission of time sheet
- Financial tracking and file management via QuickBooks and Egnyte
- Coordination with clients and external service providers (Banks, Account, Legal Counsel)
Periodic Duties
- Assisting with Budget preparation
- Assist in the implementation of new software and technological improvements
- Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly tax submissions (payroll, HST, corporate tax)
- Prepare T4s and T5s for review by the firm’s Accountant
- Prepare materials for collections/coordinating with firm’s legal counsel
Requirements and Experience
- Experienced and proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and financial database systems
- An understanding of CRA rules and requirements,
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to follow and provide specific directions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A college diploma in Accounting or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree an asset
- Professional Accounting (CPA certification/qualification or Certified Bookkeeping (CPB) an asset
- Minimum of 3 years experience including work with small to medium sized consulting and/or private firms’
Compensation
- Pay Band Level 4
- Paid sick and personal days
- Full-time, Two weeks paid vacation annually (to be adjusted based on years worked)
- Paid travel, expenses and competitive per diems when overnight stays are required, as applicable
