Curney Mechanical Ltd. is looking for a highly skilled accountant to join our team located at 414 Neptune Crescent, London, ON N6M 1A1. Responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial information to support decision-making processes, we are seeking a qualified applicant to join us as we continue to set the standard as a locally based natural gas combustion service company.

We are TSSA certified and offer a range of services specializing in plumbing and heating, pressure welding, natural gas piping, project management, professional consulting, design-build projects, sewer cleaning and camera work.

Job Description

Your job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial advice and support to management.

Work Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or CGA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Wages and Benefits

Successful applicants will be paid $35.71 per hour, for 35 hours of work per week. They will also be entitled to a comprehensive benefits package (dental, disability, health care plan, vision, paramedic services, etc.) and a pension plan (which are in the process of being rolled out to our employees), and opportunities for professional development through training programs, seminars, and courses.
