Our client, The Bethania Group, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to join their team!
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services and Building Operations (DOESBO), the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supervising maintenance staff as well as overseeing the mechanical needs and functions of multiple buildings including all aspects of safety. The Maintenance Manager supports, mentors, and works alongside a team to respond to and address all maintenance issues promptly and cost-effectively by using all the necessary and available resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide and mentor a professional team that has a strong Resident/Tenant focus aligned with our Mission, Vision and Values.
- Hold/attend regular team meetings.
- Organize and coordinate a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan.
- Review and prioritize the planning and execution of on-demand maintenance requests and the periodic maintenance requests.
- Organize and coordinate Fire testing for all buildings and ensure that all buildings meet Manitoba Fire Code requirements.
- Organize schedules and prioritize and assign work demands.
- Update and ensure current MDS and SDS binder.
- Maintain current, and create and implement new Maintenance Safe Work procedures as required.
- Report malfunctions and mechanical abnormalities to DOESBO.
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations.
- Maintain all machinery to ensure it meets safe working standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems/issues.
- Oversee equipment stock and ordering of supplies.
- Coordinate and manage contractors and other vendors for specialized maintenance work.
Skills & Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Valid 5th class Manitoba Power Engineers License.
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to climb ladders and be on rooftops.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and lead a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a variety of computer programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Applications, Environmental Controls, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the maintenance management field.
- Previous experience supervising unionized staff preferred.
- Must be skilled at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing and building electrical systems.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Building Maintenance Software.
- Knowledge of Manitoba Fire Code regulations.
