We are looking for an academic leader who can be an important part of leading our TPH Academy in Waterloo Region, Ontario. This is a temporary position to fill in for our current Head of Academics for the Spring 2025 semester with a possibility of an extension for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The temporary Head of Academics will lead our center in helping our students with our blended learning platform and monitor the progress of our student-athletes. They will coach student-athletes directly in academic areas and mentor them in the process of becoming more confident, self-directed learners while meeting their academic goals. The Head of Academics leads the academic team in providing instruction and support in study strategies, time management, and other skills necessary for student success. They multitask and work hand-in-hand with the Director to develop skills, behaviors and habits that contribute to the success at the Academy.
Education, Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor?s degree in a related field plus 2+ years of experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and teach/coach others.
- Computer skills including Google Suite and ability to learn other software programs utilized by TPH.
Pay range for this fixed term position is based on experience, $3,500-4,500 CAD per month, payable in bi-weekly installments during the semester.
The selected candidate will be required to complete all prerequisites for employment, including those required by Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation, or any other governing body, including but not limited to background screening, Respect in Sport training, and other mandatory training courses.
