Job Description
Arcadis is looking for a specialized Construction Inspector with extensive hands-on experience in the installation and inspection of large CPP (Concrete Pressure Pipes) with diameters up to 2400mm. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in CPP joint rehabilitation techniques, including sealing, grouting, and structural lining. This role requires a strong attention to detail, thorough understanding of CPP construction standards, and the ability to ensure all work meets the highest quality and safety requirements.

Role accountabilities:
CPP Installation Inspection:
- Perform precise inspections of large CPP installations, ensuring correct handling, alignment, and placement of pipes with diameters ranging from 1800mm to 2400mm
- Verify proper bedding, backfilling, and compaction around CPPs to prevent pipe displacement or damage
- Ensure that all pipe sections, fittings, and accessories conform to the project specifications and approved shop drawings
CPP Joint Rehabilitation:
- Inspect and document the condition of CPP joints prior to rehabilitation to assess damage or wear
- Oversee joint sealing operations, including the application of grout, gaskets, or linings designed to restore the integrity of the joints
- Monitor the use of specialized materials and equipment during joint rehabilitation, ensuring that all procedures comply with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations
Conduct post-rehabilitation inspections to verify that joints are watertight, structurally sound, and free from defects
Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection, specifically with large CPP (Concrete Pressure Pipe) installations up to 2400mm in diameter
- In-depth experience in CPP joint rehabilitation, including the application of sealants, grouts, and structural linings
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industry standards for large CPP installations and rehabilitation
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather condition
- Capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods on construction sites
Salary: 30-35 CAD hourly / 40-hour week
