Job Responsibilities:
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
- Reconcile and prepare monthly GST and PST tax returns.
- Prepare complex journal entries using state-of-the-art accounting programs, ensuring proper support and documentation.
- Prepare inter-company / interdivisional transaction entries.
- Prepare trial balance of books.
- Oversee AP processes internally and coordinate payments and follow-ups with our buyers and suppliers.
- Support accounts receivable by assisting in billing and collection efforts.
- Reconcile accounts:
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure financial integrity.
- Reconcile accounting data from our cloud-based e-commerce platforms, inventory management, and automated payable systems—including Shopify, Lightyear, Lightspeed, Stripe, and Inksoft—to ensure financial record accuracy.
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Utilize retail accounting software POS integration, purchasing, and accounts payable platforms to identify and resolve any missing invoices.
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
- Prepare management and ad-hoc accounting reports related to our cloud-based platforms.
- Analyze accounting data and effectively communicate results to stakeholders.
- Maintain meticulous records.
- Work across multiple sets of books.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online accounting software.
- IT Skills Required:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word), Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets is essential, as we use Google Workspace.
- Expertise with cloud-based payment systems, e-commerce platforms, purchasing and accounts payable solutions, and inventory management tools—including Telpay, PayPal Payments and Reports, Stripe Billing and Payments, Lightspeed Retail Inventory Management, Lightyear Automated Accounts Payable, Inksoft, and Shopify—is also required.

- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with strict deadlines.
