Job description
Duties:
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, as needed
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving and maintain a clean driving record
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise
- Complete required paperwork, such as delivery logs and inspection reports, accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate completion of paperwork
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of long hours on the road
Skills:
- Automotive repair: Knowledge of basic automotive repair procedures to perform routine maintenance on the truck as needed.
- Forklift: Proficiency in operating a forklift to load and unload cargo safely.
- Freight: Experience in transporting various types of freight, including understanding weight limits, securing loads, and following proper loading procedures.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
