Our client, a Canadian-based company and leader in the design and manufacturing industry, is adding a Senior Financial Accountant to their team. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, they need a critical thinker with general accounting experience to bring fresh ideas on automation and processes to the table. You will prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze cash flow, reconcile accounts, and contribute to audits and regulatory reporting. Please note that this is a hybrid role.

In this role, you will:
- Maintain precise accounting records. You will execute monthly close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP, consolidation of P&L, and Balance Sheet flux analysis.
- Analyze. You will prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
- Continuous improvement. You will analyze the current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions.
- Collaborate. You will work within Finance and across teams. You will take on reporting projects for our private equity owners. You will uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
What you bring:
- The experience. You have a CPA designation combined with general accounting experience, including month-end closings, account reconciliations and balancing journal and general ledgers You are proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new technologies.
- The focus. You are highly meticulous and deadline oriented, able to prioritize work and balance multiple projects. You can adapt to the needs of a dynamic and evolving company, identifying opportunities for changes and taking the initiative to recommend opportunities for automation.
- The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and can work collaboratively within and across teams. You are comfortable presenting information to stakeholders at any level. You thrive in an independent role while having an appreciation for working with people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences.
What you can expect from the interview process
A 30-minute virtual interview with a Talent Advisor to discuss your interest in the role and to learn more about the organization. A virtual interview with the Manager of Accounting, a Finance team leader, and a senior team member to discuss how your experience and skills meet the organization’s needs. A final virtual interview with the CFO to further discuss how the role fits into the organization and to answer any questions.
