Who we need

With recent Series A funding SuiteSpot is set to triple the business over the next 3 years. We are looking for a Director of Marketing to spearhead the strategy that will engage, influence, and support prospects and clients. You will bring an innovative approach to lead and execute data-driven marketing initiatives to generate leads and revenue and push the brand forward. As a team of one, you will be in the unique position of managing a budget, determining the strategy, and being creative. 

This is a remote role with 2-3 monthly in-person meetings in the GTA.

You want to bring your insights to target new clients and keep them engaged through and beyond the sales cycle. 

You have experience designing, developing, and rolling out a multi-pronged account-based marketing strategy. You are motivated by measurable results and energized by the process of getting there. You are driven to excel at what you do and want to deliver the campaigns you design. This is a leader-doer position and an ideal fit for someone coming from a larger team who wants to take lessons learned and proven tactics to build and execute a strategy.

This role is accountable for driving revenue through targeted, qualified lead generation. You will be part of a culture that emphasizes coaching, learning, and cross-functional development.  

What you will focus on:

  • Strategy. Alongside the CRO and Business Development Manager,you will spearhead the development and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels to generate brand awareness and attract leads that ultimately convert to revenue. You will develop and implement strategic marketing plans to build, cultivate, and retain clients. You will play a crucial part in the account based marketing strategy, which includes supporting email sequences and designing LinkedIn ads.
  • Brand awareness and recognition. You will own our brand and all elements, including website, logo, and messaging across various mediums, including digital, social, email, and tradeshows. You will collaborate across teams to drive content development and own the execution of case studies and the voice of the customer.
  • Event strategy. You will collaborate with internal and external teams to redesign the brand’s industry and networking presence. From booth design and strategy, to swag and event selection, you will optimize every opportunity to maximize return on field event investments.
  • Thought leadership. You will stay up-to-date with the latest marketing trends and technologies to ensure the company remains competitive. You will manage a group of contractors and collaborate with agencies and freelancers. You will work closely with non-marketing departments, gaining trust and sharing knowledge. You will assure buy-in and budget support from senior leadership and stakeholders. You will ensure all teams adhere to corporate brand and operational guidelines.

What you bring:

  • The expertise. You have extensive experience with a focus on selling B2B SaaS technology and creating and managing organic and paid media strategies at a scaling or mid-size organization. You are the creative and practical lead who thrives in a role where you can also bring your ideas to life. You have in-depth knowledge of building account-based marketing strategies. You can translate strategy into creative insights. You are always looking for ways to drive effective customer engagement.
  • The technical skills. You have the analytical skills to interpret data, draw insights, and meet KPIs. You can expertly apply, analyze, and leverage SEO best practices, Google AdWords, and LinkedIn ads. You are comfortable with a range of modern marketing tactics and tools, including Google Analytics, a CRM and marketing platform such as HubSpot.
  • The project management skills. You are naturally curious and enjoy learning about business challenges. You bring order to competing priorities and keep things clear, concise, and running smoothly. You enjoy coaching and mentoring within and across teams to influence the company’s adoption of branding and messaging. You have strong project management skills and can build collaborative relationships with internal and external designers, developers, sales and product experts. You lead by example and by doing, always working alongside the teams and never hesitating to contribute where needed.
  • The interpersonal skills. You are a self-starter with a ton of energy and enthusiasm; you have a great sense of humour and an easygoing nature. You can engage and work with internal teams, contractors, and vendors. You know when to bring expertise in and how to translate business needs into action. You have outstanding communication skills, and you excel at adapting the tone and delivery of your messaging to fit the audience and medium.

What you can expect from our hiring process:

A  virtual interview with a Talent Advisor to discuss your experience, your interest in the role and to learn more about the organization. An interview with the CRO to share your interest in the role and the company. A follow-up interview with the CRO, including a pre-assigned exercise to get to know your working style and discuss your skills in account marketing, brand building, strategy development and execution.  A final interview with the CRO and CEO where you will have the opportunity to ask and answer questions and determine if there is a good fit.
