Who we need:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, we have a 14-month contract opportunity for a Finance Manager. Working closely with business partners across Scene+ as well as financial teams within our owners' organizations, you will focus on the day-to-day reporting and analysis of financial results and preparation of forecasts to ensure an 'always on' forward-looking view to guide the business's financial performance. In addition, you will play a critical role, optimizing and applying robust processes, reporting and controls with clear communications and value-add analysis.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days a week in our new offices with the option to work remotely for part of the week.
What's in it for you:
Influence. We are a data science-driven loyalty company with three large and diverse owners. You will continue to build out our financial infrastructure as you introduce best practices and policies. Your work will be highly visible, impacting reports and presentations for the Board and our owners.
Variety and challenges. You will be part of a future-forward team that values authenticity and invites fresh perspectives. Whether you want to focus fully on your finance deliverables or collaborate on Board presentations or special projects, no two days will be the same.
Professional development and support. You will work with a manager who removes barriers and empowers his team to make decisions and accomplish great things.
In this role, you will:
- Complete financial analysis. You will track, analyze, and report our financial results and metrics, ensuring complete, accurate and timely results. You will deliver insights, including developments and maintenance of financial models.
- Present findings. You will prepare presentations and analysis for executives that communicates and enables effective decision-making.
- Build. You will take a consulting approach to improve reporting and control processes and establish policies for our financial infrastructure and accountability.
- Collaborate. You will apply finance subject matter expertise in working with business partners to support business initiatives, delivering knowledge, reinforcing decisions, holding teams accountable, and enabling the advancement of sound business initiatives. You will leverage the skills and work of other financial teams working on taxes, balance sheets, and more.
You bring:
- The expertise. You are a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with extensive experience in technical and full-cycle financial accounting, including exposure working as part of an internal team at a large corporation. You have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP and IFRS.
- The technical skills. You have experience in process improvement, and policy writing and implementation. You are highly proficient with Excel as well as PowerPoint and Word.
- The focus. You are comfortable balancing a fast-paced, diverse and changing environment with the importance of ensuring consistent and smooth execution of key deliverables (such as month-end, etc.). You are deadline-driven and highly organized. You are meticulous and exceptionally detail-oriented.
- The ownership. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you don't just call out the problem; you propose the fix and follow through to ensure a more robust financial infrastructure with repeatable, well-documented processes.
- The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and the confidence to lead meetings, make presentations, and defend your choices without arrogance. You can influence decision-makers and earn the trust of your team and colleagues.
Why work for Scene+? The best of all worlds. We offer:
- Perks. Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, performance-based bonuses, and extra rewards from our owners, including discounted rates on mortgages, banking and movies
- Transparency. Our strategic focus comes from our owners, along with funding and infrastructure support. The creative approach and direction is Scene's to run with.
- Warmth. We're nurturing an authentic culture of relationship building, knowledge sharing, and creativity. As we continue to grow and work together, everyone is invited to share ideas for fun with the team.
- The future. We are all about living in the moment while looking towards the future. Because to us, the only thing more exciting than today is tomorrow.
