  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, modify and test aircraft structural, mechanical, power plants, and hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and established procedures
  • Install or modify aircraft engines and mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
  • Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
  • Perform and document routine maintenance
  • Estimate the time required to complete NRC's and coordinate with the Production and Trade Supervisors to ensure that the labor requirements for all production personnel have been accounted for.
  • Work in close coordination with the Production and Trade Supervisors to ensure that the work is performed within the scheduled time frame
  • Inspect systems and power plants and ensure that these systems meet Transport Canada and company standards of performance and safety
  • Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, repair or modification of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures
  • This position requires making on site decisions regarding maintenance of the aircraft’s being serviced.
  • May be responsible for mentoring and coaching apprentices and other staff
  • May be required to climb ladders, stand on scaffolds, manage other maintenance staff, spend long hours on emergency repairs

Educational Requirements

  • Completion of relevant courses in aircraft maintenance
  • Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship and/or related certifications in aircraft maintenance

Other Requirements/Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in the aircraft maintenance field
  • Experience on a ATR72 500 or 600 series aircraft or heavy check experience
  • Knowledge of safety Management systems
  • Knowledge of Health and safety Regulations and Guidelines
  • Over 5 years of experience as aircraft mechanic or related
  • Excellent knowledge of heavy maintenance, snag rectification, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Familiar with Beechcraft 1900 series, Cessna Caravan C208 Series, Pratt & Whitney PT6A (Large and Small)
  • Sound experience carrying out engine changes and rigging including compressor washes (desalination and performance recovery)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
