The Facilities Management Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of an Integrated Maintenance System at the CHUM Research Center as an individual contributor. You will provide on-site technical support so that we can meet our contractual commitments, which include maintaining and repairing facility assets. You will schedule staff and trades schedules to ensure adequate presence on-site as required by our agreement. You will uphold Company policies and practices, as well as all provincial and federal regulations that affect the operation of the hospital. You will manage the relationship with the client and their satisfaction with our services. You will ensure effective management, planning, and financial communications.

Main responsibilities:

  • Improve the maintenance management system by planning activities in the computer-aided maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Update and maintain documentation compliance in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Establish solid business strategies to create strong links between financial and contractual commitments and customer needs
  • Lead the execution of the full lifecycle of a variety of project-specific responsibilities that are performed in addition to regular maintenance activities, including but not limited to budgetary responsibilities
  • Provide the data required for the production of monthly reports
  • Work with the team to implement energy efficiency measures
  • Optimize and refine preventive maintenance plans

You must have:

  • University education in applied engineering or post-secondary diploma or certificate of competency in facilities maintenance or construction
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in business English and French to a high degree (verbal and written)

  • Significant experience in the facilities maintenance or construction industry
  • Demonstrate time management skills, be able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; know how to respond to several requests at the same time and deal with competing priorities
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Solid knowledge of electromechanical systems and other building operating systems, including structural, civil, and architectural components
  • Ability to create and maintain collaborative working relationships with users, internal staff, contractors, vendors, and the public
  • Self-motivated, professional, and flexible; able to solve problems effectively
  • Work experience in a hospital, health care, or research center setting
  • Certification in WHMIS, first aid, and CPR
