(1) Ironworker Foreman

 

Job details

Job status:                       Full-time, permanent, ongoing employment.

Schedule:                        Monday to Friday, 7AM-3PM shift, with opportunities for overtime.

Location of work:         Various worksites throughout the Calgary region.

Business address:        387 Exploration Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta, T3S A02

Salary:                               $40.00/hour

Language of work:      English

Job duties

The Foreman is responsible for the crew and is accountable for how the crew completed the assigned work on time and on budget. Specific job duties include:

  • Oversee and coordinate workers including ironworkers, apprentices and labourers;
  • Schedule workers and ensure manpower is being managed effectively;
  • Review and adjust work activities and task schedules to meet established production schedules;
  • Coordinate activities between detailing and the fabrication departments;
  • Order required materials for assigned projects;
  • Help solve any problems that arise on site
  • Ensure work done meets standards and recommend work processes to improve productivity and product quality;
  • Arrange for training of new crew members
  • Identify other training needs for the crew, and facilitate the delivery of that training;
  • Hold regular safety meetings with workers
  • Keep records of workers who no-show or are late for work;
  • Ensure all safety requirements are met,
  • Meet placing budgets
  • Complete foreman?s log, quality reports and incident and other safety reports;
  • Keep time sheets for allocated work sites ;
  • Work with G.F., payroll, detailers, and contracts concerning billing and RCO?s
  • Perform the duties of those being supervised, as required.

 

Requirements

  • At least 3 years? experience working with reinforcing steel, and an AB Trade Qualification, or Red Seal for Reinforcing Ironworker is required.

 

(2) Journeyman Reinforcing Ironworkers

Job status:                     Full-time, permanent, ongoing employment.

Schedule:                       Monday to Friday, 7AM-3PM shift, with opportunities for overtime.

Location of work:       Various worksites throughout the Calgary and Edmonton region.

Salary:                              $38.76/hour

Language of work:    English

Job duties

  • Place and secure rebar on commercial, residential and infrastructure projects in horizontal and vertical formworks
  • Identify the different sizes, lengths and bend types of rebar
  • Perform physical work like packing, tying and cutting rebar with specialty tools for the trade and placing rebar chairs appropriately
  • Read and interpret detail sheets and drawings
  • Work with apprentices
  • Work around various cranes and at heights with positioning equipment
  • Must be safety conscious and follow all LMS safety protocols

 

Requirements*

  • At least 3 years? experience working with reinforcing steel; and
  • Red Seal certification or proof of eligibility to challenge the AIT exam to obtain Ironworker Reinforcing Trade Qualification certificate;
