Position - Refrigeration Technician (Apprentice)

What you will do:

As an Apprentice Refrigeration Technician, you will learn how to install, repair, troubleshoot and preform preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment at customer locations, in order to become a Refrigeration Technician. Your role will require you to utilize your industry knowledge to service refrigeration equipment, while providing exceptional customer service. You will participate in on-going professional training. You will be exposed to a variety of equipment, including: ice machines, beverage units, blast chillers, freezers, reach in coolers, etc. You will be responsible for interacting with our valued customers and our internal Service Team in a professional manner.

What you will bring:

  • Install, repair and troubleshoot commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment; working with a Refrigeration Technician as required
  • Complete major and minor refrigeration renovations
  • Consult customer and/or refer to work orders to establish nature of the equipment malfunction
  • Diagnose faults, analyze issues and refer to schematic diagrams to repair and/or replace equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance according to service calendar
  • Work directly with our customers at their various locations
  • Maintain constant communication with service team members via phone, in-person and email
  • Report service call outcomes in our ERP system
  • Participate in all on-the-job modules, field training and additional modules as assigned

What you will have:

  • 1 - 3 years of Refrigeration service experience. Experience working in the food service industry is an asset.
  • A 2nd or 3rd year Refrigeration Apprentice, working towards obtaining your Refrigeration Journeyman License. A Gas License is an asset
  • Valid Driver's License with a relatively clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with strong problem solving skills and the ability to defuse challenging situations
  • Experience handling a variety of tools and a mechanical and electrical aptitude
