About the Position: Receptionist

We are seeking a friendly and professional team player to join us in our open concept office at 2985 Virtual Way, Vancouver, in the role of receptionist. This position is full-time, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with the occasional overtime on weekends or evenings.

This is an office position, not working on set, and will not lead to Membership in the DGC BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incoming calls: answer queries and direct calls.
  • *Greeting visitors: receive and welcome visitors to the office in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Light housekeeping: ensure that the office common areas are organized and clean, prepare coffee in the mornings.
  • Mail/courier: receive, sort, and distribute documents/packages as well as preparing documents and packages for delivery.
  • Electronic records management: database entry, scanning and archiving documents.
  • Inventory: assist with distributing promotional products, monitor and order office and kitchen supplies.
  • Permittee Logbook Holder Program: review submissions, conduct intakes, follow up with correspondence, and data tracking.
  • Availability lists: prepare and publish daily lists and two weekly lists on Mondays and Fridays.
  • *Meeting/event preparation: room set up and clean up including catering and refreshments.

*The DGC BC office is currently closed to the public; however, these duties are likely to resume in some capacity in 2022.

Requirements:

  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks.
  • Comfortable operating multi-line phone system.
  • Experience with Google Calendar, Zoom, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute (WPM), accompanied by high attention to detail and degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.

Basic knowledge of the BC Film and Television industry is an asset.
