Integrated Sustainability is an award-winning, Canadian-based provider of world-class sustainable Water, Waste and Energy solutions, with Vancouver offices located at 1050 W Pender Street. We are recruiting a Director Strategic Development – Pacific (NOC 0211) to join our team. This is for a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. The offered salary ranges between $100 – $120K per annum. Extended health, medical and dental benefits are available after completing 3 months.

Position Description:

Reporting to the VP Operations - Pacific and working in the Vancouver office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow the business by leading the development and execution of the sales and business development strategy for the Pacific region, leading the instrumentation & controls technical function while also mentoring and coaching our internal team.

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties as detailed below:

  • Lead the development and execution of competitive sales strategies including the identification of new business opportunities through networking, building brand awareness and strengthening existing client relationships
  • Grow and develop the Vancouver team by managing the professional development and mentorship of junior staff and ensuring communication and alignment across the business
  • Developing instrumentation and control design criteria for projects and proposals
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to build capability and drive business growth
  • Break down strategic problems, and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations
  • Utilize the client relationship management system (CRM) database to manage and report on business development and account management activity
  • Assess skill/performance gaps within internal teams and support with appropriate training and development planning
  • Create a collaborative and engaged team through positive mentoring/coaching
  • Participating in design reviews and Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOPs)
  • Providing technical guidance to junior staff
  • Develop and review instrument indexes, instrument datasheets and inline instrument sizing

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering or applied science
  • Sales and business development experience, preferably supporting the mining and energy sectors
  • Excellent sales skills including lead generation, networking, solution identification, and closing
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong interpersonal skills
  • Technical outside sales experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English and legally able to work in Canada
