JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation) is looking for a permanent full-time Interpreter/Translator at our Vancouver office.

Duties:

Gather and translate a variety of materials on metal mining in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean region from Spanish to English / from Spanish to Japanese / from English to Japanese
Communicate and interpret at the meeting with metal mining officials from Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean region from Spanish to English / from Spanish to Japanese / from English to Japanese
Write reports in Japanese concerning metal mining activities in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean region

Skills and Experiences:

3 years or more experience as an Interpreter/Translator or university degree in translation in Spanish, Japanese, and English languages is required
High level of interpretation and translation skills are required
Familiarity with technical terms utilized in the metal mining industry is preferred
Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to write in a reasonably organized manner are required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Language:

English, Japanese, and Spanish

Compensation:

$25.00/hour, 7.25hrs/day, 36.25 hrs/week, ?Extended medical, 14 days paid vacation
