Job duties :

1) Accountable for daily operations of the shop and providing leadership to ensure objectives are met,
2) Providing overall direction, support, coaching and leadership to the shop team to achieve targets,
3) Setting and clearly communicating objectives, managing performance, delegating work, supporting development, providing regular feedback, and evaluating compensation levels for staff,
4) Proactively managing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships by liaising and communicating with business partners, vendors, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders,
5) Writing estimates and negotiating claims with TD Insurance,
6) Negotiating discounts with suppliers and inspecting quality of work,
7) Overseeing the budgets for staff expenses, including the budgets for any work that the company is contracted to do to ensure that the credit budget with dealerships are not exceeded,
8) Leading the team in providing high levels of customer services, both internally and externally, with the goal of continuously improving the customer experience,
9) Proactively taking steps to reduce customer effort and evaluating the performance in this area,
10) Leveraging and encouraging customers to utilize feedback tools provided by TD insurance,
11) Oversee and monitor customer service levels provided and put action in place to improve,
12) Assessing staffing requirements and assisting in carrying out the recruitment and selection process, as well as resolving employee personnel issues,
13) Managing employee attendance, and
14) Conducting semi-annual proficiency employee reviews.

Permanent, full-time, non-seasonal, 8.5 hours a day

Wage: CAD $76,510.20 to CAD $80,000

Skills requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • At least two years of experience and knowledge of vehicle repairs
  • One year or more of experience managing the complete operations of an auto repair facility
  • One year or more of experience managing over 15 staff members, including recruiting, resolving personnel issues, and conducting employee reviews
  • One year or more of experience overseeing related staffing budgets
  • Experience with dealing with insurance brokers, specifically writing estimates and negotiating claims as well as in-depth knowledge of the feedback tools that insurance companies use
  • Automotive customer service experience
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Proficient in Mitchell Repair Centre, Progi Sync, and other vehicle repair software
  • Previous experience in a high profile car shop with over 5 million in revenue
