Responsibilities

  • Execute all aspects of the integrated pest management program.
  • Achieve accurate product mixing and application rates, sampling, inventories, and record keeping
  • Apply specified treatments to plant material on both residential and commercial properties
  • Monitor, inspect, diagnose, and treat trees and shrubs for different insect, disease, and cultural condition related issues
  • Interact with clientele and the public in a respectful and professional manner
  • Effectively operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment

You will be responsible for the safe operation of the following equipment:

  • Sprayers, pumps and applicators
  • Chain saws
  • Chipper
  • Trucks
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Assorted hand tools
  • Participate in tree crew operations during the PHC off season
  • Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the supervisor, Crew Leader, or managerial staff

Qualifications

  • Understanding of species-specific insect, disease, and cultural tending practices
  • Tree and shrub ID, pathology, and strong knowledge of tree and shrub physiology
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely as an individual and/or part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
  • Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (will provide paid training)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
  • Degree or Diploma in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, Environmental Science or a related field OR prior experience working in the tree care industry is preferred but not required

Rate of Pay

  • $18 - $22 per hour
