Technical

  • Taking responsibility and the completion of final engineering drawings for subdivisions, site plans and severances, according to company standards, with the support of existing technical staff, for submission to approval authorities
  • Taking responsibility for the completion of detailed design calculations for servicing and grading plans with the support of existing technical staff including: sewer sizing, road profile design, lot and site grading, stormwater calculations for attenuation and conveyance, layout of SWM facilities, cut/fill analysis from existing to proposed surfaces, watermain sizing calculations, fire-flow assessments and waste –water generation assessments
  • Completion of engineering reports in support of Land Development applications including Functional Servicing Reports, Detailed Site Servicing Reports, Detailed Stormwater Management Reports

Management

  • Managing engineering and approvals for Subdivisions, Site Plans and Severances for our key clients under the oversight of the Engineering Manager
  • Providing oversight of tendering, construction management and contract administration for the construction of engineering projects
  • Working as part of a team including our registered Professional Planners, and Ontario Land Surveyors
  • Working with qualified technical engineering staff to get projects done on time and on budget
  • Participating in weekly work planning meetings with other Project Managers
  • Aiding junior engineers and EITs in technical aspects of design and project management
  • Mentoring EITs in their development from new graduates to P. Eng status
  • Developing relationships with key clients and building your own professional reputation within the development industry
  • Participating in Business Development activities, providing input and aiding in the implementation of  the company strategic plan
  • Keeping up-to-date and aware of latest technologies in our industry and providing input on the implementation of workflow aiding technologies
  • Monthly invoicing of works completed on our various projects

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience in the field of municipal land-development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks at once in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working with and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D workflows and processes
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal designs standards for site-plan and subdivision developments
  • Understanding of the approvals framework for municipal land-development projects
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering design concepts and principles
  • Familiarity with stormwater management programs such as MIDUSS, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS
  • Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited University and licensed by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (or immediate eligibility for license)
