The Township of Matachewan
As part of the Township of Matachewan’s office team, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting process. More specifically the Accounting Clerk, under the direction of the Treasurer, will maintain the accounting records of the municipality.
Responsibilities and traits associated with the position within a municipal atmosphere include:
- Interaction and communication with local residents and groups
- Becoming familiar with the functions of a municipal office
- Interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills
- Experience working in a computerized environment
Education or experience in the accounting field is a necessity. Any experience within the field of municipal government would be considered an asset.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s licence. Excellent written/verbal communication skills are necessary.
