The District of West Vancouver (the District) is one of three municipalities that make up the North Shore, and is a member of Metro Vancouver, the governing body of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR & Disability Management Advisor will be responsible for providing advice and support to all District employees, and will act as a resource in the formation, implementation, promotion and monitoring of health, safety, rehabilitation, attendance, and illness programs and benefits. Additionally, this position will have the opportunity to provide additional services and advice in the areas of labour relations and employment services.

The Human Resources and Disability Management Advisor is a collaborative, highly motivated professional with disability management and labour relations experience as well as exposure to broader HR programs and services. The successful candidate will have the ability to connect and collaborate with people at all organizational levels and maintain strong, service-oriented relationships.

The preferred candidate will have formal education in Disability Management and HR and over five (5) years of related experience, preferably in a complex, multi-union environment, supplemented with a solid comprehension of OH&S. Registration with the Certified Disability Management Professional, Certified Human Resources Professional, and/or Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation is preferred. A valid B.C. Driver’s License and a vehicle are mandatory.
