Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $ 29-30 / hour to be negotiated

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Perform layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
  • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub-flooring and erect walls and roof systems, and other construction structures
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
  • Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws ,nails, dowel pins, or glue
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames ,flooring, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter`s hand and power tools
  • Read technical documents and drawings
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and owners


  • Completion of secondary school
  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction, maintenance, renovation projects
  • Strong Experience with light weight steel framing, building lumber ,casings, specialty assemblies
  • Hands-on experience in working with commercial materials
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, drills etc.)
  • Good understanding of basic math
  • Good physical condition and endurance
  • Has own vehicle and able to drive to various sites around the GTA
