Main Purpose of Job:

The operations assistant manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the business centres’ day to day business including parcel management. This position will support and manage onsite teams of 5+ people. The operations assistant manager will also work collaboratively with the sales team to oversee print, branding and parcel operations.

Operations Manager

Secondary Reports: Creative Director, Director of Corporate Strategy and Director of Finance

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Business Operations
    • Manage print and branding production in partnership with the project manager and sales team 
    • Utilize and manage the MIS/Reportal/CRM systems
    • Act as primary contact for event clients as assigned by the sales manager
    • Anticipate staffing and utilize labour hours efficiently to meet both business and customer needs
    • Perform quality checks on products before delivery and/or installation
    • Address and rectify any service failures in all aspects of the business (print, branding, shipping etc.)
    • Foster strong partnerships with our internal and external clients (Hotel staff, FedEx Shipping etc.)
    • Participant in site walkthroughs, as needed, with new or potential clients, to be a strong champion for TDI’s suite of services
    • Assist with scheduling and mapping print/branding jobs with the business centre specialists
    • Assist, and be present, with coordination of branding installations with vendors
  • Financial Management
    • Achieve growth by hitting, or exceeding, sales targets by successfully managing the daily business and operating budget
    • Follow appropriate financial processes including collecting customer deposits prior to production
    • Collect daily revenue by timely posting Lightspeed charges by end of day
    • Daily reconciliation of, but not limited to, Cash Floats and Bank Deposits
    • Provide timely payments to employees, vendors and suppliers (Paycheques, Hotel Fees etc.)
    • Monitor waste and potential shrinkage in all aspects of the business (print, ship, retail etc.)
    • Provide quarter, monthly and/or weekly revenue reports
  • People Management
    • Manage recruiting, onboarding and development of new and existing employees
    • Assist with the training and development of team members both in technical and soft skills
    • Execute all aspects of the performance cycle, including, but not limited to, proactive and reactive coaching, performance assessments, progressive discipline, goal setting etc.
    • Cultivate and sustain TDI’s culture through displaying and living TDI’s core values
  • Perform additional tasks as required


  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year managerial or leadership experience
  • Work experience in the hospitality sector
  • Project Management Experience an asset (PMP Certification preferred)
  • Ability to create exceptional customer experiences
  • Advanced Computer Literacy in Microsoft Suit
  • Excellent Communication skills, Interpersonal skills and Business Arum
  • Strong mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Impeccable Organization and Time Management skills
  • Work experience in a print environment highly preferred
  • Experience with Graphic Design an asset
  • Multilingual an asset
