The Recycling Depot Maple (Inc) is a waste management transfer station established in April 2014. We process commercial and industrial waste such as concrete, wood, soil & steels for both private and residential clients.

Our business is expanding, and we are looking to hire an account manager/bookkeeping technician who will report directly to Controller and to CEO and manage a team of 3-5 bookkeepers and clerks.    

Duties are as follows:

  • manage and oversee the daily operations of our bookkeeping department and verify recording of all financial transactions including, but not limited to:
    • month and end-year process
    • cash receipts
    • general ledger
    • treasury
    • budgeting
    • cash forecasting
    • revenue and expenditure variance analysis
    • capital assets reconciliations
    • trust account statement reconciliations in different currencies
    • check runs
    • fixed asset activity
    • debt activity
    • tax remittance
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements for subsidiary accounts including Sale, Transport contracts, Roll off contracts Major suppliers
  • Assign work and examine and verify accuracy
  • May perform the same duties as workers supervised.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Provide recommendations to senior management
  • Complete three different intra-company transactions.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Supervise establishment and maintenance of fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Provide training as required
  • Responsible for smooth operation of computer systems and equipment and for purchase and update of all licenses

Qualifications:

  • Completion of formal training in bookkeeping
  • 3-5 years of proven bookkeeping experience
  • Advanced knowledge of TRUX (essential), Quickbooks & Online Banking, and MS Office
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience
  • Ability to build and manage a team of clerks
  • Prior experience in providing recommendation to senior management
  • Proven ability to manage intra-company files
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Ability to prioritize and muti-task
  • Excellent people, communication and time-management skill

Salary offered: $55,000-$65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Terms of employment: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position.
