Even though, at time of writing, there are only three jobs available with the City of Barrie, we thought it might be helpful to our users from that region to have a look at what's available.

The three jobs are Health and Safety Advisor (closing date July 6, 2007,) Assessment Technician (closing date July 13, 2007,) and Policy Planner (closing date July 20, 2007.)

Sobeys is hiring a lot of staff throughout the country. This grocery store chain, which was started in 1907, is looking for all sorts of staff is various capacities.

Mostly, they are looking for people to attend to the various grocery departments, such as deli counter and produce departments and jobs range from customer service to department managers. There are also some corporate jobs in the financial area, such as General Accounting Clerk and Financial Analyst.

While speaking with our clients, once in a while we hear of one that is having a tough time finding staff for a specific position. A conversation last week with our client at Fasoolio's Grill was one of these cases.

Opportunities at Inco

Inco is world famous for their production of nickel and they have 10,000 employees around the world. If you're interested in working there (I guess that could make you number 10,001) you might want to read this blog post.

Inco is seeking employees in a wide cross-section of fields and experience. Most jobs are found in the Mechanical and Electrical Trades category as well as Engineering and Scientific group.

They also have corporate opportunities in Administration as well as Accounting and Finance.

Their Canadian jobs are in Thompson, Manitoba and in Ontario.

Did you know that Nova Scotia Power is looking for a shocking amount of personnel? A little electricity humour.

They are looking for 15 people right now, across Nova Scotia for a variety of jobs in administrative services, engineering, trades, and non-trades.

Among the job opportunities are a Meter Reader in Sydney, a Wiring Inspector in Truro, and an Environmental Specialist in Lakeside.

Jobs at Canadian National Railway

CN has a lot of jobs on their website. Specifically, there are 135 jobs found in the general Canadian jobs section. These jobs are throughout the country.

A separate IT jobs section lists quite a few IT jobs in Montreal, including a good number of SAP jobs. There's also a Senior .net Developer job in Toronto.

There's a note on the site that mentions that they only accept applications for positions that are currently posted - but if the position you're interested in isn't posted, you can subscribe to be notified by e-mail when it becomes available.

If you are a medical professional and are looking for work, why not take a look at the Northern Lights Regional Health Authority?

They serve over 20 communities across rural and remote Northern Alberta. At time of writing this blog post, they are looking for over 60 professionals at the various centres this health authority operates.

Among the positions they are looking for are Medical Radiation Technologists, Registered Nurses, and an Emergency Room Attendant.

Canada Post Jobs in Rural Communities

Do you live in a small, rural community? If you have a tough time finding work in your area, why not check out the Canada Post website for positions?

Since communities have mail delivery, Canada Post hires rural mail carriers. For example, they are hiring (at time of writing) carriers in High Level (AB) , and Carberry (MB) as well as other areas.

They have positions in the larger cities too. Currently, most mail carrier positions seem to be in the western provinces.

Dell is looking for staff at all three of their locations, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Toronto.

At time of writing, among the jobs they are looking for in Edmonton: Application Packaging Specialist, Senior Human Resources Manager, and Retail Sales Rep. They even have a telecommuting job for tech support, but you must live in the Edmonton area.

At their Ottawa office, they are looking for a Bilingual Customer Care Assistant, an Electronics and Peripherals Sales Specialist, and a few other professionals.

Their Toronto location has the most jobs to offer ranging from a Commercial/contracts Lawyer, to a Financial Planning Manager, to an IT Manager.

At the time of writing this blog entry, computer giant Apple had 36 jobs on their website for corporate positions available throughout the country.

Though they are a software company and most jobs deal with IT such as computer engineers and software engineers, they are also looking for business development professionals and managers.

They also have listings for opportunities to work at their Apple stores located in Ontario and Quebec. With job titles like Mac Genius, this could be the job for you.

So, if you love their products, why not consider working for them?

Let's continue with the Alberta theme we left off with on Friday to bring you opportunities with one of Canada's largest companies, EnCana Corporation.

As they deal with the oil and gas industry, their focus will be on professions that serve that industry. These include geophysicists, project engineers, and reservoir engineers.

However, they also have positions within the company that are not specifically oil and gas related. At time of writing, this includes accounting staff and a program coordinator for public and community relations.

They also have a section specifically for new graduates to work at their Calgary, Alberta location.

Hiring at the Toronto Transit Commission!

Did you know the Toronto Transit Commission is hiring?

They are currently recruiting transit operators to drive the buses, streetcars and subway trains in the city. If you have a good driving record and are interested in this type of work, the site has quite a bit of information about the skills required and the application process. It's even got information about benefits and salary.

There are quite a few other positions listed like transit special constables, welders and lawyers.
